LEONARDTOWN, MD – The National Athletic Trainers’ Association honors athletic trainers annually in March. In honor of National Athletic Training Month, St. Mary’s County Public Schools would like to recognize our Board of Education approved provider of athletic training services, ProFlex Physical Therapy of Maryland, LLC, and our outstanding athletic trainers. Athletic Trainers work with student-athletes who are physically active or involved in sports participation through all stages of life.
Athletic Trainers are healthcare professionals. They are highly educated and impact health care through action. Taping and icing is just a small part of what athletic trainers do. Athletic trainers also coordinate and execute injury prevention programs, prepare athletes for practices and games, communicate with physicians about injuries, treat and rehabilitate injured players, help determine return to play for injured athletes, monitor environment and weather conditions, develop, and execute emergency action plans and are first responders on the scene.
St. Mary’s County Public Schools would like to recognize our athletic trainers for their essential role in providing quality health care for our student-athletes.
