Don't know what's wrong with some of the parents in Calvert County, but it's time you teach your kids some morals, manners, respect, and how to act in public. I personally watched a group of kids last night go around and act like bullies to other kids for no reason - name-calling, harassment, and violence/abuse. I saw kids walking around without adult supervision who were way too young to be out by themselves. I heard the way these children spoke towards other people, including their elders, in such disrespectful ways that it was truly disgusting. You parents should be ashamed of yourselves. Really, CPS should be called, and you should be investigated for the failure of raising your children properly. First Friday is a family affair and for the whole community to enjoy. It's not for fighting, wannabe thugs, bad behavior, drug use, and disrespectful trashy people who need guidance and discipline. The problems start at home. What you want or want to portray on social media comes second to raising your children. When you decided to have a kid, that became your number one responsibility, not your personal life or situations. There needs to be serious anti-bullying programs taught at all the schools in Calvert County, Maryland, immediately. All kids caught being a bully should instantly be investigated, and their home inspected to see what the real problems are. Then they should be made to attend classes to teach them how wrong and bad people they are becoming. Parents should be mandated to attend with them because they are failing their children. The parents should be punished and made an example of. It's unacceptable to let children act like this, and you should be ashamed of yourself if that's the trash you're raising. I will be bringing all the attention I can to these situations, and I will personally embarrass you publicly if I have to. Enough is enough. Protest bad parents. Protest lack of guidance. Protest the lack of protection and action taken by all the schools that keep letting this happen and/or promote these issues by staying out of it and doing nothing because they don't actually care or are cowards, just like the bad parents themselves. If you're talking about First Fridays it's not much more than an open-air bar crawl where parents from northern Calvert dump their underage/early teen kids off to roam around.
That's what ruined the first iteration of the Farmer's Market held on Friday evenings, more alcohol, fewer farmers (went from 30 the first year around 2008 to 3 the last year, 2020) beer wagons, and unaccompanied minors. I watched the line of parents in cars dropping their kids off at 3rd and Bay more than once.
