But it's timing is interesting. Over the weekend General James Mattis did two interviews that I saw, both on CBS.
One was Sunday morning from near his home in Washington State, the other was on CBS Monday Morning.
In both he was classy, he pretty much made it clear he was doing the interview to promote his book and not trash Trump.
He talked about what anyone who serves owes in terms of their silence.
But he did focus on the nation divided and how this fragile experiment we call the United States wasn't gong to survive if we couldn't find a way to talk, to listen, to on another without name calling and violence.
Yes, maybe a draft Mattis campaign is what we need, somehow I think he was decline the nomination, but it would be a grand idea to put someone in office who was focused on US, rather than identity politics.
