What's the deal with the Nats? Why aren't they playing as well as a few weeks ago. They are really in a slump. Just got pushed out of first place by the now-first place Braves? What's going on here?

It's because it's so hot out. They should switch to 100% breathable cotton outifts.

I wondered about the temperature, since these guys are used to temperate Montreal. I checked and the average July high temp in Montreal is 79 degrees F.

Its just the baseball gods evening things out. Nats won a slew of one run games earlier in the season, now the trend is reversing. All the losses to the Braves were one run games.
