If you are going to make your own food be sure to include all the vitamins, etc. that the pups need.

If so what do you feed them and what are the results?

pixiegirl said:Google BARF (bones and raw food). I've never soley done this but I do suppliment a lot. I also feed human grade food. My pup has horrid allergies (food and otherwise) and it's the only thing I've found that keeps her in digestive system in check.
This is what I feed the big girl...
I get it at Petco.
I'd considered the BARF diet for my pup, but he just barked at the food, so I feed human grade kibble (and sometimes canned, which he adores). I used to feed Chicken Soup brand, but availability in my area became a problem, and now I feed Merrick.cattitude said:I don't, but I feed human grade food.

The kind I buy can be purchased at a specialty pet store.sanchezf said:Where do you guys purchase this Human Grade food?

Can you explain more about human grade food?
and why you choose that over making your own?
I used to when my rottie had cancer, there is alot of info on the net about cooking for your dogs and what vitamins & herbs should be added. I now feed all natural human grade dry food as it is much easier. You can also research all the brands on the net also. If you look in the older dog threads I posted last years recommended list from the dog journal. One brand that is good for one may not work for another. ex: chicken soup brand is one of good quality and one of cheaper ones out there. Two of mine can eat it but the other is allergic to barley. Good luck!sanchezf said:Does anyone on here feed the dogs an all natural diet, by this I mean boil meat, rice, vegtables etc.

I live in NC. We were buying it at a pet food store in Va Beach...my husband would stop and get it on his way home. Then his ship was dry docked in Portsmouth, so it's not on the way home anymore, and I didn't want to drive two hours round trip for dog food. Luckily we have a pretty good pet supplies store in town, and they recommended Merrick. He seems to like it better and is doing very well with it. It's a little pricier, but I don't mind the difference.kerriellen said:Nickel,
Don't know where you live, but I buy Chicken Soup for my dog at the pet store on Great Mills Road. It is not the nicest store, but they are the only place I could find that food around here.
Go by Clippers Canine Cafe', in Solomons, and they will help you out..sanchezf said:Does anyone on here feed the dogs an all natural diet, by this I mean boil meat, rice, vegtables etc.
