I'm sure that whatever they contain hemorrhoids will be the last thing you worry about.

Wait a minute. . . . .

 First things; those are artillery shells, right? At first, I thought they were bombs with the tail fin and nosecone guidance modules unmounted. Then the more I looked at them, I said wait a minute - those are artillery shells - and they look about 10 to 12 inch diameter as well, if you compare them in size to the men around them. What are they doing on an aircraft carrier? I did not know carriers had cannons that size.

No, they're bombs, without fuses and tail fins. Look to be MK83's (1000 pounders) based on the size of them.

 Alright, but what I was confused about was that they looked awful crude for bombs. The prior pictures I recalled seeing, it seemed like the bombs had smoother casings on them. Of course, it can be argued that "it don't have to look pretty, as long as it does the job" Thanks.
Secondly, are those actual painted stencils on the bombs, or has the picture been digitally altered? I can't tell, but I know with todays PCs, a lot can be done with an image through
digital manipulation.

Looks manipulated to me. Look at the ones on the left and it looks like you can catch the writing right through the packing material where the orange tag is attached.

 Right! Along near the vertical slat that is holding the bombs together on the pallet, the letter is showing through.
Cool!
