Need a foster home for a 9 month old Cane Corso X

Help "Invisible Dogs"
Here we go again.... :howdy: there is a sweet 9 month old female Cane Corso mix in the shelter and of course she's not up for adoption to the public.

She's a sweet girl which is why the shelter has kept her past her euthanasia date. She came in as a stray so nothing is known about her. I had to laugh when we were in the play yard and she realized she could run free.... to see her run w/her front legs all splayed out was hilarious!

Please if anyone can help foster her until we can get her adopted or an opening in one of our other foster homes, please let me know!

Why isnt she up for adoption? Maybe you wouldnt have these "Here we go again" situations if you adopted some of them out?

But then by not adopting your forcing people to go to Back Yard Breeders to get their pets...... hmm maybe all that outrage was a scam

:cds: Your post makes no sense.......:smack:

in the shelter and of course she's not up for adoption to the public. Means she is in the shelter and the shelter will not adopt her out to the public! Only released to a rescue group, ie - someone like KK. She is asking for a foster home until she can adopt her out to the right family.

Because people want a Cane because they're "cool" dogs and then these same people have no clue what it entails to own a large dog, which probably why the poor thing is at the shelter in the first place.

Before a dog is adopted out it must be vetted - shots, neuter/spay, micro-chipped, etc. She is trying to find a place to keep the dog until this is done and then the dog will be available for adoption. Actually, applications can be submitted before all of the that takes place but the dog isn't released until it is done. The dog is currently in the shelter - Tri-County. Tri-County will not release the dog to the public to be adopted.

She can through the rescue, but in the meantime needs to find a foster to save her life. Shelters are not allowed to adopt out to the public certain breeds of dogs..Wanna foster her till she can be adopted???

I can adopt the dog out but first I have to get her out of the shelter which means I need a foster home to put her in.

The shelter will not adopt pit mixes, or mastiffs to the public, only a rescue can pull them so we can find an appropriate home.

Just trying to understand why a Dog isnt up for adoption. Passing it off from foster home to foster home cant be beneficial nor make for a happy Dog, so why not euthanize it?

Compulsive Animal Hoarding is a real issue, typically it involves keeping a higher than usual numbers of animals as pets, while at the same time denying this inability. So called "Foster" cares have a high instance of this OCD condition.

How are you helping the animal if you are keeping it from a home/family/adoptee that could provide the animal the care and relationship it needs?

The dog is not being passed of from foster home to foster home. It is in the Tri-County Shelter! Most dogs go to one foster home and stays there until it is adopted.

I used to foster dogs when I was married. I'm not an animal hoarder. Your post makes no sense.

sooooo you havent found the right family yet- so u need to find a temporary home? is that right? i thought maybe if the shots and stuff werent done that might be why, but then i wondered why it would take so long to get done it would go passed the euthanization time period. i really wish i could, but i have two kitties and only a one bedroom apartment :(

Tri-County will not release the dog for Adoption, but will release it to a Rescue, who at some point may then adopt the dog to the public?

Yes, now you have it! The hope is that ALL of the dogs find a permanent home. Each dog is evaluated on the best type of home for the dog and the adoptive families.

The shelter has to adopt a dog to whomever walks in the door. All that person has to do is provide proof of who they are. Someone can come in and adopt the dog that the temp test says not for a home w/children under a certain age and the shelter can't stop that adoption.

When they make certain breeds or certain dogs "rescue only" it's because they know our policies. They have our applications and our contracts on file, they know that we, as in rescues, will screen anyone that wants to adopt from us to make sure that the dog is the right fit in the family.

Look just because you were the dog version of the Neighborhood Cat Lady, before you were married (maybe if you didnt have so many dogs, you wouldnt have had to wait so long), does not mean this post was addressed to you.

you are such a dumbass, maybe if you got laid by something other than an inflatable, you wouldn't be posting dumb crap. go stick your head back up your azz.

Why doesnt TriConty adopt out Pit Mixes, Mastiffs to the public?

Why are you able to adopt out a dog to the public, that you got from a shelter that would not adopt the same dog out to the public?

Because a shelter does not have the ability to properly screen adoptive families so they know a rescue can better handle the situation and the rescue can be selective when placing these breeds of dogs.

I didnt make up the pass from one shelter to another, that was based off of KrazdKats post (let me pull that up for you)

Here we go again.... there is a sweet 9 month old female Cane Corso mix in the shelter (Ding 1) and of course she's not up for adoption to the public.

She's a sweet girl which is why the shelter has kept her past her euthanasia date. She came in as a stray (Ding 2, at some point she came from somewhere) so nothing is known about her. I had to laugh when we were in the play yard and she realized she could run free.... to see her run w/her front legs all splayed out was hilarious!

Please if anyone can help foster (Ding 3) her until we can get her adopted(Ding 4) or an opening in one of our other foster homes (Ding 4 which will lead to a Ding 5 when/if Adopted) please let me know

Optimistically you are talking 4, environments this dog will have to adapt to in 9-12 months. If the rescue hides any tendencies (like they did with the other Dog) you'll be tacking on a few more.

Readl humane.

Ding 1 = Ding 2

We like to keep a dog in the same foster home, I mentioned that option in case someone could only commit to a short time foster.

Dogs are highly adaptable when they are in loving homes and treated right.

(like they did with the other Dog) would you care to explain?
