Has the father contacted the mother today as he said he would? Did she try to contact him or go straight for a lawyer/police officer? If not and he won't answer her calls then she might have a reason to start getting concerned. Then and only then would I consider contacting somebody else. That's all suposition though and just MHO (Yes, I have kids and I also went thru the Custody situation. Somebody asked if the people responding had kids so I'm throwing this in here!)

Yes, she contacted him today, several times, and still refuses to return the children. The State Police even contacted him and he refused to tell him where he was, said he did not know where he was. They told him he was in clear violation of the custody agreement and he was to return the children. There is really nothing else they can do unless someone knows where they are.

If he's on a cell phone they can track it to the tower... and if it's a sprint phone they can track him to the block.

My friend is in a sitiation and needs an AWESOME custody lawyer ASAP. To make a long story short, her X did not return her children last night as per their custody agreement. He is clearly in contemp of court right now. Her currrent lawyer is being very laid back about the situation, to say the least. She went to the courthouse this morning to file a contempt of court charge and to try and get the children returned to her ASAP, this was also a major debacle. She was given the paperwork to fill out and told to contact the Maryland State Police and/or the county police where the children are. Isn't there anything else that can be done????? Can he just keep these children at his own free will and return them whenever he feels like it? I thought thats what custody agreement papers are for???? Anyways, can anyone out there recommend a "go getter" lawyer in Calvert County that will be very proactive in this situation? TIA
Contact Laura Martin in the states attornes office, she is very helpful. I don't know if she deals with custody issues but she can direct you in the right direction.

Also contact Tracey (don't know her knew last name, used to be Spagai) who is the Master for domestic relations and file kidnapping charges.

NOW this sounds a little bit more than what was earlier posted. In the earlier posts it sounded like he just wanted another day or two and she was upset because it wasn't the exact time they agreed on.

NOW if he's refusing to say where they are and refusing to cooperate, NOW there is real reason for concern. NOW we have a case of possible parental kidnap. NOW what happens will depend on how those papers read of whether she has SOLE legal and physical custody or JOINT. If its JOINT....she may have a hard time getting them back. If they are over 12 she may have a hard time. Many factors involved here.

The most important thing she needs to figure out now is are the children in any real danger or is he just being an ass about this.

Um... I guess the fact that I don't sleep around... and that he had been the only guy I been with in three years was pretty convincing evidence... but is there any biological documented proof? No... although it wouldn't matter because he signed the recognition of parentage.

I don't hate him... how can I hate someone who gave me the most wonderful gift? I feel sorry for him, I get angry at him... I don't understand how someone can turn their back on their child...

And our son will NEVER know the anger I feel towards his father, because it's not our child's fault we didn't work out and it's unfair to put that crap on the child.
:yay::yay:You don't need to explain yourself to TJ. You're right on with how you are handling your situation.

Any updates? Are the kids safe? That is the most important thing here.

West Virginia. Wish I could take credit but its from the internet. I'll be up there for awhile.
I'd love to see that view - I'm guessing it's about late Sep / early Oct.
Will have to talk to the hubby and get up there this year to see the trees change.

Yes, the children were returned last night. Even after the police contacted him and told him he was in clear violation of a court order and he must return the kids, he still refused to even tell the police his whereabouts. Maybe he spoke to his attorney or came to his senses, but end result is, he returned the children to their mother safely last night! Thanks to all who posted advice and concern!!!!

That looks like the view from an overlook in Greenridge State Forest near Little Orleans, I used to go up there all the time, makes me want to go back. Float trip down the river is very relaxing!
