Meet Ali --

Ali is a three year old male Boxer, neutered and up to date on all shots. Ali is looking for a home due to a change in is owner’s family situation. Ali was a chained outside dog for the first three years of his life. He has adjusted to living inside the family home since January of this year. Although Ali is inside the family home now, he spends most of his time inside a bedroom alone. Ali is a loving dog, want’s to please and loves to chase tennis balls, kong and rope toys, however, his favorite is stuffed toys. Ali is crate trained, almost 100% housetrained, gets along well with children of all ages, he has lived with children as young as 5 years of age up to teenagers. Ali knows basic commands and loves car rides. He will need a little conditioning on jumping. He has so much time to make up for; he gets very excited when someone pays attention to him. Ali has tons of energy to burn and would need a fenced in yard as he likes to run. Ali walks well on a leash and is looking for someone that can spend time with him and make him an integral part of the family. I’m a little special in that my tail is not docked, but don’t let that scare you away. If you know the breed, I’m all Boxer. He will make a great companion. If you would like to meet the famous Ali and give him a chance to be a part of your family, please call Laurel 301-399-0107 or e-mail matthewslb1@verizon.net

If you can foster you would be fostering for the Humane Society of Calvert County.

What happend to the brindle fellow at Tri County?

I don't know, I've had a few people ask, but I haven't talked to anyone at the shelter. I'll try to call them later and find out.

Does anyone know if there is an active Boxer rescue?

I can't believe how many Boxer's wind up in shelters, I would think any person that "thinks" about breeding, or the many BYB's already in existence would be ashamed of themselves to continue to add to this problem.

We have a 10 month old w/AKC papers coming into our group....

Boxers are VERY popular. Trouble is most people don't have a clue how high maintenance they are. If they aren't trained and kept busy, the are a royal PITA. I met a woman once, right after we got Biscuit. She said she had to give hers to the shelter because it was retarded. It was 7 months old. Upon talking to her, I discovered she was the one with the brain problem.

10 month old? Male or female?

When Boxer's get bored they find things to do. :lmao: That could be playing with their toys or something destructive.

And THAT's what pisses me off!

After I talk to the shelter if he's still there, I'll try to reach some rescues. Not sure if the shelter has any boxer rescue contact info....

And labs/lab puppies are coming from every direction!!! You wouldn't believe how many labs we've seen in just the past 6 months alone that have gone to the shelter, turned loose to roam on their own, or turned in to rescue! :jameo:

STILL THERE - This guy desperately needs pulled, I think he may be rescue only, but he is going to need work. Most rescues (mine included), do not have the resources to deal with dogs like this.

He's probably a great dog, but has the boxer high maintenance and now compound that by being at the shelter for 2 - 3 weeks.

If someone with the experience with boxers would be willing to foster him maybe everyone could donate some $$ to send the fosterer and the dog to training. I'd be willing to donate to that. But someone has to step up to the plate to foster.
