Anybody know of a local tire shop that can mount tires on custom wheels without galling the lip?

Always a crap shoot. I've had good luck with Curtis putting 40 series tires on the Chargers forged aluminum wheels, but I wouldn't expect any promises. Asked the nice man at Cheseldine about looking over my wheels with me before having them mount tires years back, he told me to get out, and accused me of trying to get him to buy me new wheels. $800 bucks a wheel or better, you have every right to be concerned.

Jeff at St. Mary's automotive (Callaway) has been doing all the mounting/demounting of tires on all my aluminum rims and has never marked one.

I had a local place damage one of my wheels a few years back. They bought me a new one from the dealership at a cost of $3000 but wouldn't deal with me anymore after that.

I say if can't handle the heat, don't enter the kitchen.

Was it an aftermarket wheel? Whether it was, or not, $3K sounds like a bit much for ONE wheel. Sounds like this place bought that wheel on the high $$ side on purpose.....and you had to cough up the money?

They paid for it which is why they wouldn't deal with me anymore. Factory wheel. Very uncommon type of car.
