Need Professional Seamstress for $$$$$ valuable gown alterations...

I bought a very $$$$$ designer gown from NY for my son's wedding. It is made of silk and rayon and is layered with beading, etc. Because the gown was a display item at the store and had some "wear" due to handling, etc, I was able to purchase it for 80% off the retail price.

I need to find an excellent professional and established seamstress who can either raise the shoulders for me, or adjust the front and back for me as the shoulder, neckline area is a bit large for me.

If you know of someone locally who has this kind of experience, please post here or email me at barbswire532@comcast.net

I have plenty of time to complete the alterations but want to get started soon.

Maybe one of the bridal stores will do the alterations for you.

I took my favorite outfit to Mens warehouse of all places! Best Tailors in the area. Maybe they can hook ya up.

I used Peg Dann in Lusby for my bridal gown. She is an excellent and experienced seamstress!! You will not be disappointed! I'll email you her info.

Seeing that you live in Saint Leonard there is a lady right on Long Beach Drive that does alterations and does WONDERFUL work, she did my best friends $$$$$$ wedding gown and it was BEAUTIFUL, she has a sign out front of her house, it is before the new Kings Creek subdivision, if you want drive down there and look for the sign, I can't remember what the place os called off the top of my head, if you want me to I wil lcheck it out when I go home sunday night and report back to you monday. Let me know...

Thanks for the suggestions!

I think I'll try the lady in St. Leonard first (since she's close by, and get an estimate of the costs, and also ask Peg Dann for her estimate!

Where's this place at? I have some pants I need taken in some, and I heard most dry cleaners will do alterations, but you have to mark them first. I don't know how to do that!

PM Sweetpea. She can make shirts, pants, dresses,I'm sure alterations should be a piece of cake for her.
