Ear Nose and Throat doctor to be exact. Our pediatrician wants to be on a "wait and see" stance with my 2 year old about a 2nd set of tubes. I say why put him through the ear infections. So without his recommendation, I have NO clue who to go to.

Anyone have any recommendations?

Have you tried seeing a Chiropractor? Many times the first vertebra in the neck can compress the eustation tubes and prevent drainage. My son gets chiropractic care regularly. He is 19 mos. and has never had any probs. HTH

Dr. Gary Mason in Pembrooke in Waldorf (301-645-4419) he removed my tonsils and treated my co-worker's little girl (tubes). I have several other friends who go there or take their children there and they were pleased with his treatment/care/bedside manner.

PM Cattitude, her sister works for a great ENT doctor. Her name used to be Mizerny, but she's changed her last name and I haven't the foggiest idea of what it is now. She put tubes in my daughter and took out her adenoids. She was very good. :yay:

My entire family uses Dr. Mason.. and he is great! The waiting room even has a play area for kids that is well stocked with toys and books.

I used Dr. Garro prior to Dr. Mason and he was awful!!! (extremely long waits and horrible communication skills... rude).

When I was diagnosed with sleep apnea, I was referred to Dr.Mason. I had one appointment and then the next appointment his office was emptied out and he fell off the face of the earth without notice. The office was cleaned out overnight. His office would not return my calls.

My ENT is out of Leonardtown off Moakley Street near the hospital. Her name is Dr.Cindy Dailey and she took excellent care of me. Even if Dr.Mason was any good, his customer service sucked azz and that was good enough for me to find another doctor. JMO I am very happy with Cindy

You take a 19 month old to a Chiropractor??

You need help.

Granted I'm not a doctor, but then again, neither is a Chiropractor. How close do the Eustachian Tubes come to the neck or spine?? How EXACTLY does the veterbrae compress the tube that connects the ear canal to the sinuses? How often is a regular visit?? Once a week? Twice a week?? To cure something that can be done right with ONE visit to a doctor? I'm sure your chiropractor is enjoying his new Lexus!

I just don't SEE how the spine can compress a tube that runs from your ear to your sinuses.. but besides that.. a 19 month old, who's bones are still forming, growing, and the littlest bit of damage or mishandling can hurt him for life, you're letting someone manipulate his neck??

I think its a little weird to take an infant/toddler to a chiropractor but who is paying for the Lexus the doctor is supposedely driving? Its your choice as a parent to decide what you think is right or wrong for a child. I know people that do it and they have perfectly normal kids. I wouldn't do it for similar reasons as you described but I would come down like you did on them for it. take a pill and relax a little.

Then i wouldn't be me..

Wait, you WOULD come down on them like I did, or you wouldn't??

Besides, they drank the kool-aid, now someone has to de-program them

Maybe you should be asking for the name of a good pediatrician. Duh... If the pediatrician sucks maybe you should be replacing him and also looking for the specialist.

Dr. Garro was ughh!! Do not take a child there. My opinion.
My son went through the whole ear infection etc. thing to the point that I started staying home with him. My Dr. did the wait thing too and at two we had back to back infections, then at three about half as much and at 4 we had two all year long. I think what did they do years ago. They grew out of it. You hate to see them suffer with it but sometimes what gets done when their little cannot be reversed.
