Need some Wireless Advice

I live in an area where we do NOT get dsl at all, or wireless whatever (not too computer savy)

If I bought a laptop and went to verizonwireless and got one of those cards...would it work at my house? I am not sure if I am explaing this correctly...but I have a PC with dial up access so I do have internet service but I would love to have something where I do not have to wait 20 minutes to get online, plus I want a laptop...thanks guys.

If you have a Verizon cell phone and can get better than 2 bars, it will work. Preferred is 3 bars or more.
