For your consideration ...
Do you like green eggs and ham?
Too funny. True story. Have actually had, green eggs, many many many times, sans the ham, bacon instead, with maybe some fried potatoes, or hash brown looking potatoes. And when not a full breakfast, only coffee and chicken noodle soup. (Still very welcome on very cold mornings). When out doing weeks of field training, cooks from the rear would bring out chow to each unit's location. They didn't cook the eggs fully. They only partially cooked them, (kinda still watery), before putting them in three containers that were then placed inside a Mermite Hot Cold Insulated Food Container. From the egg's residual heat, they would further cook on their way out to the field location, in an oxygen pour sealed environment that caused the eggs to turn green, while they solidified. Tasted no different that regularly cooked eggs. Pretty sure
@black dog can verify this claim.
Btw, one never complained to the cooks delivering chow about the chow, else the next chow delivery be less than desirable.
