Help! My husband broke his leg. Tib/Fib, metal rod, 4 screws etc. Has anyone of you had this injury, know anyone that did? Wandering how long he'll be out of work. He's an Electrician. Dr. said 20 weeks recovery time. Thanks so much for your advice, comments, answers, stories, etc.

....
I broke my finger once
wait....no twice.....well it was two fingers......so I guess once is still applicable......well one had to be rebroken....so that one was twice-but since there was a dr. involved...not sure if I would count that.

My cousin's husband is going thru the same thing. He has a desk job for the next 5 months. It's driving him crazy.

He just needs to follow what the doctor tells him. It's pretty cut and dry. Don't push it either you'll just prolong the injury:ohwell:

My son broke his leg in two places, had rod put in, screws up by the knee and down by the ankle. He was out of work a LONG time, 6-8 wks I think. Then went back and was on light duty in wheelchair for a long time. It still bothers him, especially when it's cold or rainy. He really tried to push his recovery because 6 wks after he did it, he got married and didn't want to be in the church in a wheelchair or crutches. He spent the reception in the wheelchair though. :bawl:

If you don't mind me asking was he is construction also? I am reading alot about people going back to work after just a few weeks but it seems that all these people have desk jobs also.

He works for BAE so isn't actually construction, but on his feet all day and was supposed to do some climbing and crawling. He couldn't do any of that. Tell him to take his time recovering. It'll be better for him in the long run.
