Neighbors dog.....

.......ok, I'm sure everyone has had this problem.

Our neighbor turns their dog out several times a day (as do we).
Neither of us have fencing and our dog stays in our yard - she's always been very good about this. I'm aware that there are times when she wanders further than she should but have not received complaints.

The neighbors dog is often caught in our yard and even in the road. I would not have a problem with this but its aggresive to our larger dog and has growled at us.

At most the dog leaves immediately when it sees me because I squirt it with the hose otherwise it holds its ground. I'm worried she'll bite the kids when they're out playing.

At this point what should I do? I don't want to make enemys of my neighbors but I can't trust their dog not to hurt a child.

Tell your neighbor how their dog is acting and your concerned about yourself and other kids around they should understand.

Do you have a SCUD missile handy?

Seriously, why is this difficult? Just go tell your neighbor that their dog is growling at you and being aggressive, and would they please keep him in the yard. Think how terrible they'd feel if their dog attacked a kid or another dog, and they had no idea any of this was going on.

so you let your dog out unattended and are bitter that your neighbors do the same?

try not throwing stones until you move out of the glass house.

Watch it
Tell your neighbor (politely). Most people won't have a problem with this. Their dog is in YOUR yard...what is there to argue with you about?

That's not funny :-(
That has happened to one of our family dogs in the past.

These people have been told nicely by their landlord and by myself that the dog is going to get hit. They're aware she travels into our yard and is not friendly. They also have a kennel that they don't use.

At one time I returned (more like chased/followed home) the dog because I found her in the road, they weren't very friendly. Almost seemed like I was bothering them.

NO!! As I said, I don't have a problem with the dog visiting our yard.
As I'm sure my dog does the same.

The problem is the dog is aggresive!
Our dog is not.

Then call animal control, take pictures and they will be fined.

However I suggest you keep your own dog in, if you go that route...

maybe they dont like that you dog poos in their yard, or maybe your dog isn't aggressive to you but is to them.
i seriously doubt their dog is agressive towards them.

my point is, you want them to stop doing exactly what you do, WTF?

I guess that's going to have to be my next step.
I didn't want to do that, I don't want to start a war.
