Hula's/ Neptune's / Town Creek Marina???

Looks like Hula's / Neptune's / Town Creek Marina and the adjacent trailer park is slated for demolition soon. Anyone know whats going in in it's place?

Please don't tell me - more condos.

Where have you been? It was in the paper a year or so ago that there were many buildings going into North Beach. I don't recall if this included condos, but I think it did. I know much office space and a convention area and a parking garage are going in there. North Beach is going to become like a mini Ocean City so I hear.

I think you are thinking of some other place. This is on North Patuxent Beach Road in St Mary's County... not North Beach.

Good ole Joe's. Used to hang out at the ruins of next door Seven Gables long, long ago in another County....fight a night...
Thought there was some plan to build a new bar/restaurant hooked up to sewer.

Good - it's about time. The bars that have been there have always been chit holes because the slumlord that owns/owned the property would never improve it. Sitting right there on the creek and no outside seating, nor have they ever been able to have decent food service. What a waste.

Hopefully the owner sold it for good and it can become something other than an eyesore and drug magnet.

The questions is: Where are you? The OPs post has nothing to do with North Beach!!!!!

Actually, I am pretty sure that the owner of Greg's Marine Construction bought the property ...5..6 years ago maybe? But whether its been sold again or 'Greg' is just now getting around to doing something with it..guess we'll find out soon enough.

Greg's have redone all the docks on the creek side and is finishing up the dock on the river side. They redid the river side dock heavy duty so they could run equipment up and down it to load barges with rock and what not. They will be using the building as the office

I guess its "soon enough" already. I'm not surprised; the 'bar business' is no way to make money any more.

Maybe I shouldn't say this, I can only base my opinion on what I see. The above bought the property that was Cape St. Mary's 8 or 9 years. Since then it is nothing but an eyesore. The nice little beach area turned into some type of marine repair. What was the resturaunt/bar has been boarded up since at least 5 or 6 years. I've the reasons of delays has been because of permits, etc. but it didn't have to turn into what it has.

I would only comment that, as a former owner of a marina/retail/bar/restaurant complex myself, once upon a time,, they are good for only one thing as that kind of business any more; guaranteeing a quick trip to bankruptcy.

So it sounds to me like Greg's (nobody I know personally, btw. I know someone who used to work for the company is all) has bought up more than one 'distressed' waterfront commercial property and not necessarily to attempt to maintain them in their previous role either. And yes..Cape St. Mary's was in financial difficulty trouble before being sold. Heck..almost all such businesses are on the ragged edge of bankruptcy these days, if not actually over it. It's a real shame to see that...but a sad fact of life these days.

I know it was when it was sold. I guess I'm just saying it's sad what happened. It was nice down there at one time.
