Has anyone tried this for free and then canceled it before the time was up for the free trial? Did you have any problems canceling it? Thanks

I haven't done that, but we used Netflix for awhile last year. We got too busy and found we were keeping movies for weeks without being able to watch them, so we cancelled. The termination was effective immediately.

I had tried Netflix a while back and cancelled prior to the end of my free trial with no problems. I wanted to compare Netflix to Blockbuster and Walmart. After doing all the trials, there really was no comparison. Netflix was far better than the other two so I joined back up and have been a member with no major problems or complaints for over a year now.

Did you still have a movie when you cancelled.? I'm suppossed to cancel on Sat and they already shipped a movie out to be here by Sat.And I'm wondering if I can cancel while a movie is still out. Will I be charged for the movie if I do that, do you know?

We did the free trial, but never cancelled. We just bought the service at the end. Netflix rocks and is the future of DVD rental.

Same with me. After a while, I couldn't find movies that I really wanted to watch.

Netflix won't send the cops after you if you still have a movie out when you cancel membership. Quit the three cups of Starbucks each month, and you've paid for at least one movie. It ain't rocket science...geesh.

How about TV series'? Or maybe documentaries?

We roll three in and three out every few days...for the $20 we pay each month, we're getting all the things we missed, the favorites, the off-the-wall stuff...

Netflix membership is better than paying for premium movie channels, period!!

That wasn't really the issue for us, it was finding the time to sit down and watch. We might start back up eventually, but we've gone about six months without the need or desire to rent a DVD, so who knows.

According to their website:

"Outstanding rentals must be returned to Netflix within 7 days of cancellation.
If you cancel, you must return all outstanding rentals within 7 days, or we'll automatically charge your credit card for the unreturned DVDs. No refunds or credits are given for partial months or unwatched movies."

You'll find this after you sign in and go to "Your Account", then Cancel Membership.

We use Blockbuster. The prices are about the same, but with Blockbuster you get two additional free rentals a month if you go to the store itself.

We're fast finding that we're running out of movies to watch, but recently we discovered you can order TV shows. The episodic nature of shows like "24" previously made it impossible for me to watch - because I'm never around my TV often enough or consistently enough to always follow the shows. But with the Blockbuster DVD's, we can watch a whole season in a couple of weeks without the commercials.

Most definately! They have an awesome documentary selection. I was especially impressed with their IMAX category...:yay:
