netflixs vs blockbuster.com

Both companies let you rent unlimited movies, 3 at a time. The advantage that blockbuster has is the 2 monthly coupons for movies and games at the blockbuster stores. The advantage that netflixs has is speed. The DVDs arrived the day after they were sent out. They must have a shipping location very close by. On the other hand blockbuster can take up to 5 business(7days) for the DVDs to arrive. Usually it arrives to my home in 3 to 4 business days.

NetFlix distribution center is in Gaithersburg, REAL quick turn around.
I usually get an e-mail say for example on Tuesday saying my movies have been sent, and should arrive Thursday, I get home Tuesday night and they are already here.. Mail back old movies on Monday, have new ones on Thursday. They just dropped their price to less then $18 a month.. Have been using them for about a year now.. love it!

I just signed up for this, so I'm not familiar with it yet. When you have 3 movies in your queue thing, does it automatically send you those three, or is there someplace you have to click "send these movies now"?

You can have HUNDREDS of movies in your queue, and when you send one back they send the next in the queue.. if it's your first order, you'll probably get all three by the time you read this!

I usually go into Reel.com, see what movies are going to be released next week (Tuesday) put the ones I like at #2 or #3, then get them the day they come out (Usually). Have never missed a new release, but if my returns arive back too soon they send me the next one on my list.

I signed up today ... and put 6 movies in my queue thing. So, it'll just send me the top three? I don't have to click "send these movies" somewhere ... it just "does it"?

Oh, and why do they not have an adult section? They have a "gay and lesbian" section, but not just run of the mill "adult" films. :tap:

I think the gay lesbian section is movies about gays and lesbians and not graphic movies showing gay and lesbian sex.

:bonk: I wasn't looking for the gay and lesbian section. It's one of the categories right there on the right with Romance, Comedy, Action and whatever.

Enjoying life!
We have had Netflix for about three months. We haven't stepped foot in a video store since. Our queue stays at about 30 movies; we get them turned around back to us within three days; they have just about every movie you can think of (except adult).

Downsides: no game rentals, although GameFly is the Netflix of the video game world; and many of the disks we get from Netflix are scratched and not entirely viewable. But if you mark the return envelope, they send you another without you having to reorder your queue.

Verdict: :yay: :yay:

Who the Hell Cares?
What is a DVD? Is it one of those newfangled technology thingies? I've lived for 84 years without one and I'm not about to go and spend my hard earned money on something that I don't need now.
