I thought females were spayed, not neutered.

I believe it's 3-4 months. As long as she's not nursing, she's okay.

It is a southern thing I think, where the men are men and the women are too.



After we got Milo neutered, we decided we will not do that again. The horrible guilt trip. He'd lick his change purse and look at us like where did they go?

Yea, it's hard seeing them sad after the clipping, but it's a LOT easier than looking at 5 adorable puppies and knowing you have to find them a home. Lucky for me, I'm keeping two of 'em. But they're getting fixed just as soon as they're 'of age'.

The mom can be spayed 1 week after the pups are weaned. Pups can be spayed/neutered at 8 weeks. You can contact Lucky Ones and they may be able to take your pups. Please don't offer them for free unless you know the family personally. People take pups to use for Pit Bull bait.

Actually Chasey, it happens more than you think. There is actually a dog fighting "ring" in Calvert and there is a problem with stolen dogs being used as bait dogs.

I know it happens and it's sad. Agreed, more "free" dogs will be used as bait and treated inhumanely, but that doesn't mean that dogs purchased won't be used the same.

For the record, the only two puppies of the litter that weren't remaining with us are with two friends of ours. The other three will remain with our family.
