New canon 40d's beware...

Since the 30 smashed to pieces I needed another woods camera...so...I went on down and picked up the 40d...well...shot once, one image in the lot before I left, incredible image, saturation, sharp, sounds like a movie camera in burst mode.

I get to the woods with some others at the Rookery, every shot is blue...and I mean blue, manual, auto...reset all settings, removed lens, tried another, removed batt and card, reset again...same thing. In the daylight I shot 1000 ISO and 150 shutter and it was DARK blue! Insanity. This was 30 minutes out of the box.
Returned to store...opened another new...went outside before exchange...same thing first image. Opened another box, the last one, perfect everytime...amazing image quality really. This thing is like a mini me to the 1d as far as functions and settings goes. Miles above the 30...

So, just beware, shoot 20 or so images before you leave the lot with any camera. I heard of one other person with the 40 who did the same thing. Rare but does happen.
Happy chooting!

I still only have a few hundred images on mine, but it's been fine so far.

At least one other person has experienced it though.

Thanks Hv, once again...I will agree that this thing shoots in almost black conditions with LITTLE noise...if any. Sunday is the Rush concert, I'll bring this body as well to give her a shot...get it, give her a shot?:killingme...:eyebrow::faint:

Strange we went through three boxes of these things though. We'll find out how much it can stand after it gets its first good "rain, mud, run for my life- slam into trees day.":howdy:

Hey Kurt...thanks to the N.O. Hornets...Rush moved their 20th concert here in Houston to the 19th, last night at the last minute. I had scheduled a company event to shoot last night, thus missed Rush. Might try for Jimmy Buffett tonight though or there is always Vijay Iyer, not bad but def' not RUSH! Dang Hornets!
Edit: or Cat Power...hehe
