There were several artificial sweeteners that caused cancer or birth defects - until it was shown long afterward they did no such thing.
In the 50's and 60's we learned about the miraculous substance called asbestos, which would shield us from fires.
There's also any number of things you're not eating enough of or stuff you need to stop eating or you'll die.

While sometimes they were right - you have to ignore it if it is sensationalized because there is a whole strata of people who profit from your reaction to it. Hence the people who know ONE SNOW STORM and they will sell toilet paper, milk, snow shovels and so on.

Earth spiked a bit of a fever in 2020, partly because of cleaner air from the pandemic lockdown, a new study found.

For a short time, temperatures in some places in the eastern United States, Russia and China were as much as half to two-thirds of a degree (.3 to .37 degrees Celsius) warmer. That’s due to less soot and sulfate particles from car exhaust and burning coal, which normally cool the atmosphere temporarily by reflecting the sun’s heat, Tuesday’s study in the journal Geophysical Research Letters reported.
