New Laptop

My old one was on it's last legs. Gone thru 3 batteries, 2 chargers, and the charge port was very flaky, never sure if if it was going to fail completely before the next charge. Camera died, case was chipped....

Took me all day to configure the new one. Couple of older programs that balked on Win 7 definitely did not like Win 8.1. Had to use all my IT background and finesse to coax them into working. Weird thing with some of the installers.... if you have the installer in a folder on the desktop, they would fail to install. Move the folder to the root drive and they install just fine.

Anyway, happy so far with the new one.

Shhh..its stuff like this that keeps IT pros employed.
I am personally waiting for 10 before getting a new lap top. Win 8.1 is like vista (to me anyway) all over again. Can and will skip it. New lap top is always like xmas though..enjoy.
