Charles Co. New lesson plans available on website, at meal sites April 17

The next round of learning materials and lesson plans for Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) students will be available on the school system website, www.ccboe.com, on Friday, April 17. Plans include elementary school lessons and Apex Learning materials for the two-week period of April 20 through May 1. CCPS is closed through April 24. CCPS has not received any new direction from the Maryland State Department of Education or State Superintendent of Schools as to when schools will reopen.

Elementary lesson plans, including English Learner and special education resources, will be posted online here. Apex Learning secondary lesson plans for middle and high school students, including special education and English Learner resources, will be posted online here. Teachers are now using Microsoft Teams as an additional tool to connect with students to help them complete the lesson plans.

To access Teams, students will need to use their CCPS-issued Microsoft Office 365 information. Each CCPS student has a user name and password; user names are student ID number followed by @ccboe.com. Password information is available at request through Ask CCPS. Parents and student can log-in to Microsoft 365 here: https://login.microsoftonline.com/.

Paper packets of the new lesson plans will be at meal sites on Friday, April 17. Meal site locations are open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the locations linked here.

Meal sites will have all grade level/Apex Learning course packets with the exception of a few secondary math and science courses, and packets for English Learners. Packets for the following will only be available at Maurice J. McDonough and Westlake high schools.

  • Physics
  • Algebra with trigonometry and statistics
  • Advanced algebra with trigonometry
  • Pre-calculus
  • Introduction to advanced math
  • All packets for English learners

Please note that packets for the next round of lessons will not be given out at meal sites until April 17. All lessons will be posted on the CCPS website April 17. Please keep copies of all work completed on paper by your child. All instructional lesson plans provided by CCPS dated April 3 and after will be collected at some point by CCPS for fourth-quarter credit.
