2015 Mustang radically new, retro, too

while I liked the most recent evolution over the previous gen, this most recent makeover nails it for me. Since i think the 69 Mach 1 was the epitome of what made a Mustang a classic, of course it does........

And who would have thought that you could get one with a four cylinder engine that produces over 300 hp.

I have seen a few pictures of it this morning. I'm not in love with it yet. My first reaction was that it looks somewhat like a Camaro. I've seen a lot of negative comments about it so far. A lot of them saying it looks too European or too much like the Fusion. I'm sure it will grow on me like they all have. I also love the '69-'70 look. For now, I'll stick with my paid off '06.

Not liking the front end and side view makes car look bloated. I am a die hard Chevy guy and far as retro rides go I opted for the new Challenger when I bought a new ride this year. The Camaro and Mustang just didnt nail the retro thing as nicely as Dodge did.

I tell everyone, "I didnt buy a Dodge, I bought Challenger!"

So far I am pretty happy. I bought the 6 cylinder since its my daily driver but 305hp isn't too shabby.

Not at all. The one "normal" one (of the entire Charger/Challenger/300/Magnum family) I drove was the 2.7 liter rental motor with a whopping 190hp........that was a horror, think I dented the floorboard under the gas pedal, right before I found out that some rentals didn't have ESP or ABS :)

The new Mustangs are okay, I always thought the GT 350 was the best looking Stang. As far as newer pony cars, the Charger looks pretty damn good to me. Gotta hide now as I've always been a diehard Ford man.

No ya dont, be proud!!!!! Although I think in SRT trim they sort of missed the boat, as far as differentiating from the lower models.

I like it... Most people whine and bellyache when a new gen of any car comes out. It will eventually grow on everyone and the aftermarket will allow you to make the car what you want it anyway. I'll stick with my paid for 1995 Mustang GT show & sunny day driver.

I like it, then again I am starting to like this touch of European styling that has been going on. The new Stingray looks sick, had to go look at the one in the showroom at Windegardner when I was picking up my transfer case fluid. The lines on it flow really nice and the interior is like a jet cockpit, to much money for my blood though.

The new mustang has some very nice lines as well, the only thing that bothers me is the back end. The rounded rear makes me think of some of the 90's Lincoln's and not in a good way. The front end makes me think mustang, it has aggressive features and that evil smile. The only thing that makes me think Camaro is the squared edges with the rounded quarter panels.

You buy fluids at the dealership?

No one locally carries Autotrak 2. Dealership is the only ready source otherwise it's a 2 day wait. It's also the same price online and at Napa as it is at Winegardner.

Well, that blows, I hate proprietary fluids. My cars coolant was that way for a while.

2 quarts every 50k miles, I was a bit overdue so I will change it again in 10k miles before our trip to TN.

GM did no favors for us, with some effort most things can be accomplished in the backyard.

Yep, the backyard mechanic needs to work a bit harder in some ways these days. Been nice working on the Samurai, lots of access, simple systems.
