New NEWS?

One thing I ifnd FRUSTATING here is the lack of current news. Most radio stations have "live" news. SOmething happens you know aobut it before you head home. Here you turn on the radio to hear them read the news out of the paper... about something that happened 4 or 5 days ago. 98.3 drives me crazy. The same SOMD update I hear at 6AM is the SAME one I hear at 5PM on the drive home.
I DON'T NEED TO BE READ TO OVER THE RADIO!!

There was a BAD accident at the intersection of Rte 4 and Patuxent Parkway last week-end, life flights numerous ambulances etc... STILL don't know what happened.. casualties and such... Anywhere else it would have been on the radio before I went to bed or at LEAST on the radio the next morning, instead I hear on Monday of somebody being arrested last Wednesday... Am I all alone is this normal "good reporting"?

98.3 is all we got kid.

The others that may come close are WTOP 107.7, 104.1 Waldorf, and any of the AM radio stations, which I never listen too.

They're all the same way so I really don't even listen to any of the local radio stations for news now.

The accident that you are asking about was mentioned on several threads here...started like just a few hours after it happened. Was front page news also for the local papers.

And by local papers you mean?? Perused the headlines of the Calvert Recorder.. the Enterprise just to name a few.. and didn't see any mention. AND how bad is this intersection? Have been told this is by far not the ONLY bad accident here. AND would like to know all the gory details if anyone knows. about the last accident there.

AND since I am on my soapbox.. why isn't there a crosswalk or an elevated walkway there? 10,000 geriatrics and all the kids trying to get across that road, I'm amazed there haven't been a lot of car/ped accidents there. Old folks worry me, I see them biking and walking all the time across that road.. I probably wouldn't do it unless it was absolutely necessary.

I meant to say, the one where the 16 year old died was a week earlier then the one I am looking for info on.
Thanks!

102.9 is a local station w/ local news and traffic...

They don't give local news when I listen in the afternoon and evening. Can't listen in the morning, as I am out of the area.

You might check the St. Mary's Inquirer for those.

:yeahthat: I find out a lot of information about things thanks to that paper. A lot of people say that that paper is full of lies... not really. Its very true with most stuff!

The only way to find out anything around here is with a scanner. You can even go online and listen to the police and fire dispatch. The local stations are a joke when it comes to the news.:stooges:
