New pup tomorrow!!!

When my beloved pup died, there was such a hole left in the house. My parents routine was all messed up..and when I go to visit there is no one to greet me when I walk in so we did some research online and found the perfect pup at a DC rescue. She came from a high-probability kill shelter and was pregnant. A rescue took the puppies, but the momma needed some saving too..so shes gonna be our pup! She looks a lot like my pup (I miss her so much) enough to get our attention anyway. I am so excited..we get to meet her..and there is a little "trial" period...then shes ours
I can't wait to meet her!!!!!

and her name is chunky monkey..im thinking that may have to change...

Also, she was heartworm positive...and then treated. We have searched around and cannot find any lasting effects from this and the vet assures us that she is perfectly healthy now..but it makes me nervous..any of you rescue folks familiar with this?

Two of my three rescues were HW positive, treated and are healthy individuals with no problems.

I think you have a beauty. Her head is gorgeous (but I'm a hound lover).

Congrats! She has a sweet face. It is nice that she has been in a foster home and they were able to tell you a lot about her temperment.

So we just got miss chunky monkey..she is one of the sweetest pups ever. She has had quite a life..clearly had puppies too young and too big for her..and she is grossly obese. Chunky is not the word...but we got her some good weight control food, and are setting her up on a schedule of walks and excersise. Once we get some pounds off of her she will be a wonderful pup...im so excited she has really helped everyone heal a bit from losing our puppy dog...il post some pics when she is a little more svelte...
