New Rule for Public Office Holders...

Honestly I've known some bartenders that would make good congressional representatives.
All I really want is at least basic knowledge of the Constitution and US law, and an unwillingness to flat out lie. All these tweaker Democrats raving about war powers, they are either dumber than sht OR they're lying because their voters are dumber than sht. I'm not in love with dumber than sht people being in charge of our country.
Agree, just being obnoxious.
Hell, I'd pick pretty much any bartender in Cody WY over some of the tards in Congress right now.

In a perfect world....
We all can't go to DC to plead our case, so we send 1 person from each district to be the voice of the people.
I think this idea worked fairly well in the pre industrial revolution America. Since many areas of America had a dominant industry at the time. Farmers, watermen, millers, ranchers, textiles, etc. The ag field could be further broken down by individual crop.
And DC congress critters did some horse trading to get various bills passed.
Fast forward to today. Take obamacare for example. Not republican voted for it. 34 democrats in the house voted against it. All the democrats & independents in the senate voted for it. Not 1 single republican senator voted yes.
I'm sure there were districts where the elected official voted in opposition to what the MAJORITY wanted. And those politicians should have been rewarded by getting defeated in the next election. The people could have sent a message that you do our bidding or we get someone else who will.
That is true representative government. But not enough people vote. And let's face it, incumbents have an easier path to victory due to several factors.
I remember T bone & Heather interviewing Hoyer on this subject. The hosts mentioned that the majority of his constituents didn't want changes to their healthcare. Steny replied that he knew better than them what they needed. He should have been voted out next go round just on that comment alone.
As is often written here, we get the government we deserve.

Yes, like so many places. He owned places in Jackson and Brekenridge CO for over 40 years. hes been gone 4 years now and has sold those peperys maybe 12 yers or so ago. He hated what has happened to Brekenridge and all of the sorrounding towns the last 15 years or so that he owned property there. I didn't hear much from him about it happening in Jackson Hole.
One of his best friends sons moved to JH 30 years or so ago to play music, and do sound systems in the local bars. Hes still there and hes discussed with the changes there.
My younger brother moved to Brekenridge a few months after he grad from college. Still lives in Colorado.
A few years ago we were at the Las Vegas airport waiting to board and about 6 guys from Jackson Hole FD were leaving town from a convention, I asked two of them if they know Andy C@#$%# and they all started laughing and asked if I knem him, his older brother and there father.
I said I absolutly know them all, my younger brother, step father and myself are all Manhatten boys, they said dad Bill and Brother Billy.
I said why yes, with that all of the fireman were laughing, the fun we used to have.
The ****ing liberials just ruin everything good in America...
