NEW YORK — A graphic new video surfaced Monday on the Web appearing to show the body of Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein immediately after he was hanged a little more than a week ago.

The 27-second video, posted on Google, appears to show Saddam's body on a gurney, covered with a bloodied white shroud that is removed so the person videotaping — possibly with a cell phone camera — has a clear shot at his head and neck. A large and gaping wound is visible on the neck.

A video purporting to show the body of Saddam Hussein is posted on Google Video.

Hanging is an art form. Way too much rope; broken legs and have to try again with shorter rope. Too much rope = too much drop; snap the head off. Too little rope; not enough drop; neck is not broken and the hangee is strangled and kicks a lot.

Looks like the "gaping wound" is where is beard hair was torn out when the knot cinched up during the fall.

He definitely looks dead. Dunno if I'm convinced yet though. Let the beatings continue. Take another picture in a month or two.

From all the footage I have seen..I still don't think it was real. I think it is all staged. How do we even know that was him? He had like 100 doubles. I'm not buying it.

I think the fact that the US wasn't involved is a lil bit shady but thats just me. I personally could care less whether he's dead or not, but I'm not completely convinced that he is. IF the US had been involved and been there to witness it, I would be convinced, however, they weren't. Shady shady shady. (No Eminem jokes or I'll beat you )

I think you are right on the money there. The US really had nothing to do with it. So, I think it is all staged. Do I care? Not really. There insn't anything I can do about it.

I'm not either. It is still weird to think that he is dead. I guess we will see in 10 years if he comes back to power or not.
