“For Your Horse” the new 2013 Southern Maryland Equine Guide has been released by Southern Maryland Agricultural Development Commission (SMADC). Unique to Southern Maryland, the Equine Guide showcases the region’s growing equine industry and brings together resources for horse businesses, owners and riders.

The guide’s 31 full color pages include a comprehensive directory of over 60 equine stables located in the five counties of Southern Maryland (Anne Arundel, Calvert, Charles, Prince George’s and St. Mary’s). It also describes riding lesson options including therapeutic riding for adults and children with disabilities and other programs such as summer camps, on-farm horse shows, training workshops and many other equestrian activities for every riding preference and level of experience. Listings detail facility amenities for the horse and rider including access to trails and cross country-courses, horse-boarding and specialized horse care.

Additionally the guide features area farms that offer hay and bedding straw, locally owned Feed and Equipment Suppliers, information on farriers, equine veterinarians and Regional Equine Planners who can provide technical assistance on pasture, water and waste management for both equine businesses and backyard equine owners.
