New to MD: Any punk house/basement shows?

Hey,

I just moved to Cordova, MD from Tennessee and was wondering if there are any good punk house shows and/or basement shows around here. I used to go to shows 2-3 times a week in Chattanooga, TN. I also played in a band there for a while (myspace.com/tyberstryke).

I'm actually working right now with some guys getting a classic rock band started to play clubs and such around here. These are guys that I played for about a year with back in TN and we're currently looking for a dedicated singer. We look forward to doing originals as well, perhaps with an alt.country feel, but we'll see how that goes...

As well as playing, I also do some recording and have done some demos for bands from TN as well as my own material (myspace.com/sloanstewart). I also love going to shows and taking pictures of bands. You can check out some pictures at flickr.com/sloanstewart

I'm looking forward to learning about and participating in Maryland's music community.

You're asking for info on a forum that deals mostly with Southern maryland. Cordova is on the eastern shore. You might get some info from the few members that are actually on the eastern shore.

Plus, one of her favorite bands is the Country Gentlemen... Sloan's #3 favorite is the Denver Gentlemen... ah... eh... maybe not so closely-related.

Also, ylexot shoots bands occasionally.

Hmm, I wasn't aware of that. Thanks for the heads up. I don't know anything about MD at all.
