Hello All!

I'm very new to Southern Maryland. I moved down here from Annapolis and I must say I love it down here much better! I'm a SAHM of 5 and I'm looking for some summer activities for my 10yr old son and 8yr old daughter. I'm not trying to listen to "I'm bored":lalala: all summer long. The summer camps are just out of my price range right now. They both like sports but since I'm new around here I don't know where to look for affordable summer activities.

Any suggestions?

Thanks so Much,
Sky

Oh, BTW, I'm in Waldorf.

Really? I'd imagine even the ghetto of Annapolis would be better than even the affluent areas of Waldorf.

Hello and welcome to the area.

Here is a guide to some summer activities offered through Parks and Recs. More can be found by going to www.charlescounty.org at the top of the page click on Residents, then Recreations, theres tons of info there. Hope it helps!

Hi - there is always Cheerleading & Football that starts in Aug so that will keep them busy, the St Charles Bears has registration every Sat in June from 9-12 and it is a GREAT thing, they also offer discounts on registering more than 1 child. My kids have beem active in sports since they were 4 and they are noe 8 & 12, keeping kids active -KEEPS them out of TROUBLE and the BORED state.

Oh, trust me....Annapolis isn't all that it's hyped up to be. Other than the city dock and the Naval Academy all that's left is GHETTO!! There's plenty of them that are tucked away so you can't see them.

Anywho, thanks for the info, I'll check out the football and cheerleading. Where is the registration taking place? I don't want to miss it.
