New Verizon Cell Antenna's in Cedar Cove?

Does anyone know anything about the new cell antennas installed on top of the Cedar Cove community (Lexington Park) water tower? I didn’t see them being installed but I noticed them up there about a month ago. My HOA president said there was a public notice sign posted about a year ago at the base of the water tower identifying the intent to install Verizon cell antennas on the top of the tower. I have zero performance improvement in my Verizon signal strength--which is VERY poor in Cedar Cove.

Just about every other day I dial *228 on my phone to sync up with any new possible antennas but still no signal improvements. Certainly the installation and configuration of the antennas takes time but I would like to think they would be online by now. Perhaps their not Verizon.

Just looking for any info that may be out there regarding the newly installed antennas on the Cedar Cove water tower.

Cheers!

If you can get near the base of the water tower, look for the hut where all the cables go into. If it's Verizon's, their name will be on it somewhere. Verizon has been known to install something one day but not turn it up until months later.

Cell Phone Towers in Baltimore, MD - CellReception.com

The link above provides a google map that you can scroll to Lexingoton Park and see all the cell antennas in the area. The only "Verizon" tower they have posted is on "Mandy Rd" in Lexington Park, BUT it's kind of misleading.

If you filter for VERIZON all the towers South of the base disappear, yet there are three down here that are Verizon.

Where it gets sticky (as I understand it) is Verizon doesn't own ANY towers. A company comes in, sets up a tower, and leases antenna space to other companies.

So the Tower may be owned by "SBA" and have Verizon and/ or AT&T cell antennas on it.

Not sure, but I had no reception at my site at Pax which in view of Cedar Cove until a few months ago or longer. Then I suddendly had 5 bars for a while. Now it's back to nothing. Maybe it broke.

Things are changing a bit. I could never get reception in my office, and my cell phone battery would go dead by 1pm (you use lots of battery searching for weak signals). Now I get a couple of bars and the battery lasts all day.

I just remembered why I had good service for a while. One of our techs put up a repeater in the bldg. I guess they made him take it down or it broke.

Here's another site that will do a local search based on street address, and lists the antennas and who owns them on each tower.

Looking around my zip code I have to wonder..

WHY is Calvary Baptist Church putting up Antenna Towers in Ridge MD??

Great find itsbob! Using the link above (http://www.antennasearch.com/sitestart.asp) and a short search on Google and Wiki I was able to identify that the antennas installed on the Cedar Cove water tower belong to Cellco...who, acording to Wikipedia, just happens to be Verizon Wireless (Verizon Wireless - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)! Guess now all we/I can do is just wait for them to go online. Thanks all!

Another way to tell is to watch your signal strength (bars). If you're near a Verizon tower and you have Verizon service, you will have all 4 or 5 bars. If it isn't a Verizon tower, you won't see any change in your bars as you pass by it.
