Anything special you have planned?

I was going to roast a rack of ribs outside, but the wind keeps blowing the BBQ out. Had to bring them in, doing them in the toaster oven.

Prime rib roast on the smoker now, following the Matt Pittman method from Meat Church!
Using the Traeger because of the wind.

I'm probably eating alone tonight, so may go to my old standby of Tyson spicy chicken patties on rolls with Romaine and mayo.

Meatballs and marinara is what's on the menu, but I might spoil my appetite with Nutella cookies instead.

Traditional New Year's Day meal. Pork roast and sauerkraut.
We were just talking about fixing the same (got some homemade sauerkraut from somewhere..and one more pork loin from last year's hog) ) ....problem is the fridge still too full of leftovers from last weekend.

happy to be living
Husband bought some stew meat yesterday (very expensive!!) so it's been in the crock pot all day. Where I always used spicy v-8, I tried the campbell's spicy tomato soup along with beef/onion lipton soup mix. Lots of veggies.
It smells delicious :yum:

Almost. Have one in frig..just not hungry for pork today, for some reason. Enjoy!

How does your wife cook it? Oven? Slow cooker?

Instapot. It's a bone in pork shoulder or butt roast.

Yeah I'm only eating one meal a day ... I still have some pasta, I'm going to fix a plate for tomorrow

Ok, that was an unmitigated disaster. Officially the worst ribs (or meat of any kind) I've ever made. The rub was awful, drowned with salt, and they completely dried out in spite of spritzing them every 30 minutes with apple juice. Inedible. Tossed the entire rack in the garbage.

Ah well. Maybe a bowl of rice crispies.

Not to add insult to injury, but my Tyson spicy chicken patties were perfect, as always. :yay:
