Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) high school juniors and seniors can audition virtually to be an anchor for NewsBreak, the television program that features news on what’s happening around the school system.
Virtual auditions via Zoom will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 16 through 19.
To try out, students can email ccpstv96@ccboe.com to request an audition time and date. In the request, students should include a contact phone number and an email (if different from the one used to set the audition.)
For the auditions and during tapings, anchors must follow a professional dress code — students should dress as if going on a job interview. The audition consists of reading a script and should take no longer than 15 minutes. Anchors serve one-year terms and must audition annually.
NewsBreak airs on Comcast Channel 96, Verizon Fios Channel 12 and at www.ccboe.com.
