I may love Bad Bunny, who knows, but I don't think I've ever heard a single song he's done. Since JayZ was hired to produce these things it's a bunch of ghettolicious bullshit.

Why do they keep picking these so called "stars" that only the 20 somethings like? They don't even watch the damn game. Oh wait, it's to give the majority of the tv audience to eat a decent meal without missing the game.

He's a Puerto Rican Rap/R&B superstar, so I don't think many here in So. MD will be well-versed in his songs  I couldn't name one thing.

I'm all for mixing up the music genre every year, but with Jay-Z producing them all, we'll likely never see any artists we'd prefer any time soon. Looking at the history of performers, at least back to 2000s, it was switched up year to year, rock: both classic and new age - pop - R&B/hip-hop, but last 5 years have been strictly R&B and rap heavy. I've enjoyed some of them, but I still want to see a mix year to year. You won't hit the mark with every American, every year, which is why switching it up is so important. Great - cool, we're showing support to our country's Latinos and their culture (though only the young ones at that...). Even after removing the illegals they're still a large part of our mixing bowl. But when giving nods to our sub-cultures, we still need to be picking performers that a large part of the US will recognize and appreciate...and tune in for. And we just had J. Lo and Shakira in 2020 -- the T. Swifts of Central and South Americas, but zero country artists since 2003 and before that it was 1994. They're actively driving away a large chunk of their audience, desperately trying to wrangle in new fans and young viewers who likely can't even afford the sports subscription to watch the damn game unless they're still living with mom and dad.

But the Halftime Show has become a business, so it's not surprising they're picking performers that comply and generate talk and money and more business. Jay-Z knew this would be controversial, and complaining about it still gives it attention, which is exactly what they want, regardless if its good or bad.

Also I know I'm not winning her any fans here, but Taylor Swift was asked, and she asked to retain rights to promote her own projects during either the show (like commercials) or leading up to, I'm not sure. But they said no, so she said no. Normal contract negotion stuff. Neither need the other to move on, so they both did.

The NFL does not pay the performers. They do it for the notice. Football fans don't watch the halftime shows. Its a time for eating & bathroom breaks.

The last good HT show was Prince. That MF'r put on a spectacle! Since then, its been horrible.
Personally, I think Beyonce's husband has been putting on talent that he wants to promote solely for profit. Like mentioned above, doesn't matter if its good or bad press.
As an aside... wouldn't it be hilarious if ICE busted the SB and cuffed everyone just like Mr. Bugs Bunny feared? Not THAT would be some press to see. :killingme

Prince was a hell of a performer, but even his show reminded me of one of those mash up musical acts done by college kids at amusement parks. When I was a kid my parents drug me into them when they needed a break from running around in the heat.
