NFL Takes A Knee ....

Dude, slavery is dead. Jim Crow is dead. The beatings ended long ago; beatings that Kaepernick never experienced; beating that I, or any other white person today inflicted. Black people are as free as I am. The only thing holding them back is them. There too many examples of HUGE success by black people to support that.

This country will never heal until black people can find it in them to forgive the past and move on. I'll be damned if I'm going to sit here and be cast something that I, my father, or my grandfather were never a part of. You want to remain in some interminable state of perceived oppression and be miserable over it, have at it. You want to believe I'm a bigot because I disagree with what these football players are doing, I............ DON'T..............CARE! All you're doing is showing how narrow-minded you are. I'm moving on, with or without you. Stay miserable. I don't care.

so racial injustice ended with Jim crow in your opinion?

The BLM movement is telling you that the beatings haven't ended. You might think that blacks have it exactly the same as you, but they don't. your insistence that they get over it because you don't see a problem is ridiculous. This isn't about slavery or Jim Crow, it is about right now. Its funny how the same people who defend flying the confederate flag want black people to forget the past :coffee:

When the white Europeans represent 10% of the US population one hundred years from now, the the black race will still be blaming us for their failures..........just sayin'

Making such claims is easy (obviously..or Mike Brown t-shirts wouldn't sell). Actually backing them up with facts is hard. Too hard, apparently.
speaking of idiots who defend flying a flag that actually is offensive to all this country stands for

Gilligan, if you were looking for any more proof of your statement that it is too hard to back up claims with facts, here it is. Instead of answering "here are the facts, moron" (using his vernacular, not calling you a moron myself), he decided to attack YOU personally on a completely different subject.

That tells you where their argument is actually at - nowhere.

I don't take BLM seriously one bit. They are a racist thug organization. Systemic racial injustice is over. If there is any sort of 'systemic racial injustice' blacks can now take it to court and win - easily. The system is fully in place to protect them as it is to protect anyone else. Blacks have every bit the same opportunity I have to succeed, they have every bit the same right I have to exercise every liberty that exists. They have all the same access to facilities, courts, businesses, playgrounds, ice skating rinks, ballfields, movie theaters, concert halls, grocery stores, etc, etc, etc... I have stood next to, sat next to, held hands with, sang with, played music with, gone to concerts with, played sports with, hugged, cried with, defended, hired, worked with black people nearly all my life. Blacks are promoted just the same as whites in the military. All of my commanders when I worked in AFOSI were black. Three of my commanders where I work now were black. The neighborhood I grew up, is now predominately black, where back in my childhood you rarely saw a black person. My boss is black. I admire and respect that man more than most others I have worked with. I am fortunately old enough to have watched how the racial and social landscape changed following the Civil Right Act.

Its funny how the same people who defend flying the confederate flag want black people to forget the past :coffee:
Are you kidding me? The same people that claim they want to forget the past by tearing down confederate statues keep throwing the past in our faces. Read this carefully, because I have already posted this. I am NOT disputing black people wanting to protest what they view as injustice. I find it misguide in a lot of instances, but I'm not black and haven't experienced their experiences. I'm not here to question their complaint; I'm here to question the time and place they choose to do it.

I will say it again... I wish they could look at that flag for just that one minute (the time it takes to sing the Anthem) and realize the sacrifices that were made - both black and white - to secure their freedom. They ARE free, as you and me. Just be thankful for the sacrifice.

So now by advocating for the end to police brutality they are racists? And because they are millionaires they shouldn't care about people less fortunate.

You are a special kind of selfish, stupid and yep RACIST
Being called racist by racist sock suckers like you and Midnight and seven is actually funny. You want to see a racist--#######-- look in the mirror.
Dick heads like you are quick to bandy the word about, but in fact you are much more racist than I could ever be.
And that goes for these knee kneeling asswipe black football and B-ball players too.

This whole F'ing thing is about racism ----------------------------Black racism.

Your post is very telling. You start with the determination that BLM is a racist thug organization and then you go on to claim you are not disputing them protesting what you see as an injustice. You describe systemic racism that you witnessed as a white person but then you somehow think that it has ended because you don't feel its effects now. ask yourself honestly, would you be willing to change places with a black person right now? Do you really think EVERYTHING would be equal?

Black people and liberals never claimed taking down those statues would change history, that was the white right who made that claim. Blacks and liberals seem to understand you don't need a monument to bad people to remember your history.

To be fair, it's not like Gil is the bastion of providing facts and refraining from making wild, inaccurate statements or personal attacks against others.
