Loving My Life...
My 3 week old has started fighting her bottle and pacifier at night.. She wont go to sleep without it at night( This just started 2 nights ago).. If it falls out shes screams... When its time to eat she fights with the bottle moving her head back and forth until she decides to suck.. Anyone else experience this problem and what can I do? She is fine during the day.. No pacifier needed....

Can't say that either one of mine did that. They were both little piggies when it came to their bottles. My son had to have one every two hours on the dot. So I didn't get much sleep when he was a newborn at all.

Shes fine during the day. Thats what gets me  Wouldnt an ear infection bother her all the time I have no clue..:jameo: Just looking for suggestions before making a trip to the Dr.

Actually when my one son had an ear infection he was up all night in pain I used a heating pad & motrin until the morning when I could make him and appointment... wouldnt you know it he woke up acting fine and dandy I took him to the Dr just to be sure and he had DOUBLE ear infections :jameo: It was the oddest thing ever for him to be in such pain at night and fine in the day.

That's not so weird. I know when I'm sick, I tend to get feel the worst at night and right when I wake up.

She didn't seem to be in pain the other day when I saw her.

Maybe ear infections or colic. Only doctors will know what's wrong.

About she won't go to sleep without it at night, sounds like she is using it as a "comforty" lovely to help her fall asleep.

About her fighting with the bottle moving her head back and forth until she decides to suck might be that she need more time to get used to it. Did you breastfeed her before you introduced her to the bottle? Babies can be very picky when wanting the breasts instead of the bottle. Also, breastmilk tastes better than the formula.

I have more ideas, but I need to know if you are breastfeeding or not before I can post more ideas/answers.

Okay, try this idea to see if it works. Sometimes, baby just want to be close to thier mothers.

Wear an old T-shirt to bed for a few nights and then rolled the t-shirt up and tie it inside the crib somewhere where she won't get tangle up or something like that, she will sleep better if she thinks you are in the crib with her sleeping because of your "smell". It works very well.

Let me know if you tried this and results.
