Do some of your own research and see what it takes (and how much of a carbon footprint it has) to actually produce this car, batteries and all. I bet you'll be suprised. Also, check out what can happen when these vehicles are involved in traffic accidents or when they need to be disposed of. It was a real Eye opener for me!

But for the tree huggers, wether it's risk to human safety/survivability, just not having to be gasoline dependent; which isn't a bad idea in theory actually; or a ridiculous sticker price; NO price is too high.

I understand the comment but do any of the tree huggers wonder where the electricity comes from? A coal fired plant, Oil burning plant or Nuclear plant. I guess it doesn't matter as long as you feel better about yourself!

Exactly. And once the earth has been fully stripped of the relatively scarce lithium...

As an engineer, it practically drives me insane to hear politicians declare something and fundamentally dirty, in an environmental sense, and deficient, in both economy and performance, is somehow preferable to an efficient gas or diesel powered vehicle, the fuel for which there is another 100 years of supply already guaranteed.
