New Jersey's five Catholic dioceses on Wednesday morning began releasing lists of priests who have been credibly accused of sexually abusing children.

Cardinal Joseph Tobin, the Newark archbishop, announced last year that the dioceses were reviewing clergy sex abuse cases. The church, he said at the time, planned to publish the names of all priests and deacons who have been credibly accused of sexually abusing children sometime this year.

Parts of Pennsylvania released a report. 300 priests abused 1,000 kids according to their report. Supposedly the church has already doled out $3B in settlement money so far. But many of the abuser priests and those that covered up their crimes have avoided jail time.

1 of the priests on the list of sexual predator priests was shot dead Saturday. It's too soon to say if the shooting has anything to do with the list of pedo priests that was released last month.

A former New Jersey priest and schoolteacher who had been accused of sexually abusing minors was found shot to death in his Nevada home Saturday, authorities said.

John Capparelli, 70, died of a single gunshot to the neck, said a spokeswoman from the Clark County Coroner's Office.

His body was found Saturday morning during a welfare check of his two-bedroom home on Bonner Springs Drive.

Henderson police are investigating Capparelli's death, which has been ruled a homicide, said police public information officer Katrina Rothmeyer.

Accused of groping and brutalizing teenage boys in the 1980s, Capparelli was permanently removed from ministry in 1992, then defrocked. His teaching license was subsequently revoked in a settlement.

A really tough read from so many different angles. Unfortunately, I have no doubt it's also true. Hard to blame the cynics who claim these sorts of events prove there is no God.... (I see it from a different perspective: that God accomplishes His plan despite the sin of Men.)

The queen of the Nile is now living in an estimated 12,000-square-foot penthouse, full of marble, luxurious carpets, and expensive artwork. And who is living with him? Bishop Mario Dorisoniville, I’m told. Dorisonville was the dubious figure assigned to “supervise” Theodore McCarrick during his supposed penitential period while in residence with Dorisonville in a seven-figure home that I discovered last summer on the edge of American University’s law school (it turns out that the Washington Post knew about McCarrick’s safe house, too, but was too in the tank with the gay mafia to report it; Marty Baron’s “spotlight” looks like a pretty dim bulb these days.)
