Infinity killed HFS and is turning it into a freakin' Spanish station. I guess we won't be hearing the Junkies for a while. This sucks.

Up until 1983, 102.3 was the home of WHFS, then one of the country's premier free-form, progressive radio stations. The old WHFS had a REAL progressive format in which the DJs actually played what they wanted...Since the Einstein years, the newer WHFS at 99.1 has seen its ownership change several times. And with each change a bit of the old, original free-form HFS format has been lost...The station still sports a "modern rock" sound which is a bit more adventuresome than other area rock stations, but nothing like the old, glorious days at 102.3.

Still depressing though, I remember back in HS when everyone had HFS bumper stickers and HFSestivial was sorta a start of summer. So I guess it's time to get our music pumped through a national network like XM....just another way our regional identity is fading.starr said:I'm with you on that one. I didn't care for the Junkies at all. All the more reason to switch to XM or something like that.
