No more Richmond NHRA?

Charlotte gets 2 races, Richmond out and Maple Grove moves to October.

The Motorsports Czar does not approve. :boo:

The closest races are now Englishtown and Maple Grove. I'm sick of having to drive to New Jersey and North Carolina for races. This area sucks.

:frown: Dinwiddie just got that race back. And they're gonna take it away?

And now you tell me I'm rushing home to *not* watch Finals? :tantrum

It's back on now. And, yes, NHRA is joining the mass exodus of motorsports leaving the area. Who leaves next: World of Outlaws or NASCAR?

I'll do a special report on it this week on RFTW. Richmond is one of the most successful races for every sanctioning body, so I'm thinking it's the racetracks that are booting the series.

Royce should move the grandstands back and apply for NHRA sanctioning. If he does that, I don't see any reason why MIR couldn't get an NHRA race. But, going to IHRA was the first thing Royce did when he took over so it won't happen.

I'm amazed at what I'm seeing in the NHRA Nationals.

This, is drama.

Tony Pedregon accused John Force of throwing away a race to get Robert Hight in the Countdown to 1. Mike Dunn agrees. Force and Pedregon got in a face-to-face shouting match, took 4 guys to retrain John :killingme.

There is a reason the tracks are dumping NHRA... The may have the high $$$ sponsors and fastest competition. Because of the high $$$ they could give a rat's ass about the fans and making the "show" any better. I was told straight out by track owners that "wanted" to hire me and straight from the NHRA.... NO!! They are not interested in anything new, entertaining or squat for the ticket buying fans. They have the track owners hog tied by the almighty $$$ in big events and could care less what the track owner wants to bring the paying customers.

I am not speaking for Royce, but I bet he is having fun and making money. He don't need someone to tell him how to run the show.... as a matter of fact TV production and track owners are paying him to consult and run things at other events in the country.

Oh yea and big news... Andy Lally got some time off and actually got to race street luge this past weekend and kicked ass taking first in 3 events... and he has not ridden for a a few years. He us a natural born racers

In other local news, Jamie Lathroum pulled off a "three-peat" this weekend, winning both Friday and Sunday night at Potomac and Saturday night in Hagerstown. He's preparing to make the treck to the hallowed El Dora Speedway in Ohio for the Dream 100 this coming weekend. I wish him well!!! :nacho: Still not working...
