I was in South Boston, VA for their season opener. (real racing:yahoo::yahoo::yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:)

I'd LOVE to own stock in the sheet metal industry after that one... lots of bent racecars and bent emotions. There was more carnage in pit road after that race than in Japan.

I believe that is were Denny Hamlin said He was always fond of racing there !

South Boston and Motor Mile are both competitive tracks. I know Hamlin usually ran at Southside (which closed up shop indefinitely btw).

Most of the Virginia tracks have big races this year. SoBo has the Danville Toyota 300 and the NASCAR touring series doubleheader. Langley has Southern Mods, KNPSE and the Heat 200. Shenandoah has USAR Pro Cup. And Manassas has the 200, the YFT 150 and Rolling Thunder Mods.

I see myself going back to South Boston. Looks like I'll be covering races at Manassas, North Wilkesboro, Rockingham, Martinsville, Shenandoah, Hampton, Millville and Shenandoah this season. South Boston was like royalty compared to Manassas and Potomac.
