I don't know what the big deal is. I just flew from Reagan National to Los Angeles with no problems. The security procedures were the same in both directions as they were several months ago before the security increase. There was no body scan and no manual search at either end. I don't know where the problems are that so many people are complaining about. I saw random people pulled out for extra checks but no more than what I had seen before. The wait time in the security lines was about the same as what I have experienced over the past several years and the TSA people were polite and respectful at both ends in both directions.

With all the outrage being expressed, I am positive that if something were to happen, the sentiment would be in the opposite direction. Everyone would be outraged that the TSA had not done enough to ensure their safety and wondering why they had been so relaxed in their searches and scrutiny of travellers and allowed someone onboard that could commit such a horrible crime. Those poor people can not win.

I will let them search every bit of luggage I carry and fell all my junk if they can get me to the other end of my trip without being scattered across the Kansas countryside.

when i flew from bwi there were no bodyscan lanes open near the gate i went out of as far as i could tell...when coming back from florida there was one bodyscan lane where you had to through and u had to stand there while the machine scanned your body with your hands over your head and don't move and it detects if you have anything on you. I got lucky and going and coming i didn't have to go through the machine but i know 1 person that did.
