any news on Pat?

Does anyone know if they are searching today? This has to be so hard on the family. I can't even imagine what they are going through. They are not going to get any closure or peace until he's found.

Bobby seems to be doing well. He's seeing visitors. His cell phone is being forwarded to his mom, so you can call that if you want to get an update.

Clevally posted it yesterday I will attach it here.

They made more sonar passes this afternoon, and the dive team went down... unfortunately they did not find anything. :bawl:

Sounds like the search will be called off until he appears... the family is very upset, but that is to be expected. :bawl:

It's not common at all to wear a PFD when out running up & down the river (unless you can't swim).
I guess when you're familiar with something...like boating on the river, going fast, etc..you never think you can get hurt. It's sad...the what ifs....he probably suffered an incapacitating injury and a life jacket MIGHT have saved him.

Officially, local dive teams have called off the search, DNR is still investigating.

But, Pat's niece use to work for Stump Neck EOD and contacted the Master Diver (she worked for him), they are currently on standby waiting on the official request, to come in with their equipment (sonars) and divers (certified to 250') to assist DNR in the attempted location and recovery.

I believe they have learned that DNR could have requested the Navy EOD team to come in at any time as they are constantly diving for ordnances. :sigh:

Either way, the search will continue as soon as the Navy divers get the go ahead. :yay: Good news for the family as they need all the good news they can get for closure.

Not sure how fast they were going, but it doesnt seem to me they were running "up and down" the river. Regardless, the outcome is still the same - my thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of these people - and I hope that they find closure soon.

They never hurt to have one on at all times, but unfortunately we will never know... hindsight is always 20/20. :huggy:

Folks can always speculate of whether a life jacket will save the life of a person who gets ejected from a boat at 100mph but one thing that can't be disputed is that a body (dead, alive, or unconscious) will float on the surface if wearing one.
