No transgender in the Military....

If transgenders WERE in the military, would that mean they would have to maintain both the men's and women's sea bag for inspections? Would they need to stand inspections in BOTH versions of uniform?

Do I have it right that the justification for this is that it's distracting and too much of a medical expense? From what I understand, we're talking approximately only 2,500 transgendered persons in the military, some of whom already have or are not going to go through transition. What about the women who fraternize and get knocked up costing us pre- and post-natal care? Is that not also a distraction and a medical expense? Isn't pregnancy a bit disabling?

It seems to me that if this is the justification that is going to be used, they need to use it across the board. Why does there have to be a ban? Why not just ban certain medical expenses instead? Frankly, I am down for not paying for a soldiers' transition just as I am down with not paying for a soldiers' birth control and/or OB costs.

I am amazed (not really) that once again sound bites are abound and not common sense. I can personally attest to the mental and physical impact the hormone fluctuations of peri-menopause has on the human body over a period of years and don't think it should take much stretch of imagination to comprehend what havoc is reeked on a human body that is being forced to take on the opposite gender of it's original chromosomal dictate.

No, this is not at all my entire reason for agreeing with today's decision, but it very well should be the most obvious one to all who would stop to consider what really goes on when one choses to defy nature.

Says the 5 time draft deferrer. What a piece of crap

What a sad day when a political move gets in the way of those brave men and women who want to serve our military.

Why are you upset??

You weren't planning on joining were you??

BUT have to add.. the 5 time draft Dodger (unlike his predecessor) asked his generals, and his admirals and he took THEIR professional advise, and made a decision based NOT on politics but on what's good for the military.

What's bad about that exactly?? Get past your faux whining for equal rights.. and your faux support of LGBQT in regards to the military, and tell me Exactly what was wrong with Trump's decision and how he came to make it.

My point exactly...:lmao:

Seriously, I regularly see males and females receive discharge rather than continuation orders. It's a constant contest to vie to remain until one reaches full retirement eligibility. Heck, the statistical weight gain alone that goes with peri-menopause would be enough for an older woman in the military to be discharged.

:yay:

Your hearing, your eyesight, your physical capabilities, your mental capabilities....there are a million reasons why someone would be ineligible to serve. Forgive me if I don't get excited by this particular restriction.

My mom says I had an asthma attack when I was 8.. NEXT..

I think I'm allergic to bee stings!! NEXT!!

I took a Ritalin once.. NEXT!!

You're body fat is .25% too high!! NEXT!!

Less than 50% of those interested in joining the military and actually get to the physical will qualify for military service..

Yet they see no problem disqualifying fat people (body shaming??), people that have asthma (can be controlled by drugs) people allergic to bees (can be treated)...

How much of a hypocrite do you have to be??

It's a ham handed attempt to continue to pander to his inbred supporters who can't fathom that not everyone is like them. That sometimes the biological process is not 100% accurate and that occasionally mistakes happen.

"Here's what we do know: If you ask experts at medical centers how often a child is born so noticeably atypical in terms of genitalia that a specialist in sex differentiation is called in, the number comes out to about 1 in 1500 to 1 in 2000 births"

Why then is it so hard to imagine that occasional people are born with the wrong genitals and later have to determine for themselves through surgery what is right for them.

Does the government bar people who had a broken leg but wore a cast and had it fixed from military service?( Comparable to post op trans people)
Does the government bar diabetics? (Comparable to people on Hormone therapy)

It's stupid for a president who can barely get any legislation passed to make something like the this a priority when we need to focus on infrastructure, defense, health care and the budget.

It's yet one more in a string of attempts to nullify Obama's legacy on human rights and its pathetic.

You're the first person I thought of when Trump made this announcement. It's OK to go to you're safe space now.....

Again, he talked to his generals and admirals and did as they suggested..

Are you suggesting that you are better informed, and better able to make decisions regarding military readiness and their ability to fight and win wars (that Obama got us into) then the people he got advice from??

How big an idiot are you, really??

A president makes a decision based on what's best for OUR military and not on his re-election potential or polls.. and you have a problem with it..

I would like to know what

You're talking two different distinct issues.

After consulting his Chiefs of Staff and military advisers, the President made this decision. I dont for a minute think it has anything to do with his beliefs or feelings on the subject. The military was formed for one purpose, to protect and defend this country. Anything that would be considered detrimental to the training of our soldiers and officers should be banned. I also dont believe woman should be serving in combat positions. But, thats my opinion only.
