Noise Cancelling Headphones.

I bowl overhand
I see them on planes, I see people at work with them.. I've read consumer reports ..

Bose, Aurvana, Sony.. etc.. etc..

All cost over $250, the Bose well over $300.

I bought a pair of John Deere noise cancelling headphones and they work GREAT. Knocks down a good 90% of the ambient noise yet I can still hear the phone ring, people talking etc..

All for $89.

I can't wait to travel again and sit next to someone with their BOSE as I whip out my John Deere headphones!!

Maybe if you wore a shorty. Ear cups are kinda big to get under a full helmet. But then, I think that's a moving violation, to be wearing earphones or headphones while driving/riding.

I wear my headphones attached to my mp3 player when I ride....sat at a light next to a cop and sang him half a song before he asked me what station I was listening to :lmao:

I don't think they'd work well. If I remember correctly, the microphone for sampling the ambient noise is on the cord so it would be hearing noise that is significantly different from what is reaching hour ears.

BTW, I have a set of $40 Skullcandy Proletariat headphones. They work ok (I'm sure Bose are better), they're comfortable, and they fold.

Good point, didn't think of that. Headphones the microphone is right next to your ear, earplugs they really couldn't be could they?

Wait, I just looked at the JD headphones....do they actually play white noise?

If they are noise canceling, they play inverse noise. They take the ambient noise, flip the waveform and play it. The flipped waveform cancels the ambient noise waveform resulting in...nothing.

My JD headphones play music and even have the airplane connectors so you can use them on travel.

I have a constant drone in my office from the HVAC, and it kills it dead.

Music is Crystal clear. BUT it only cancels out steady sounds, I can hear people talk, I can hear the door open and close down the hall etc..
