The man accused of attacking Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY) with a sharp weapon has already been released back into society.

Zeldin, the Republican nominee for governor, was campaigning in Perinton, New York, Thursday night when the suspect, identified as 43-year-old David G. Jakubonis, walked across the stage, stopped in front of Zeldin, and appeared to thrust a weapon towards Zeldin’s neck.

The man released from police custody after allegedly attacking Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY) during a campaign event Thursday night was arrested again Saturday on a federal assault charge.

David Jakubonis was charged at the state level with second degree attempted assault, but he was “released on his own recognizance” Thursday, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. Jakubonis will now stand before U.S. Magistrate Judge Marion W. Payson Saturday to face his federal charge, Fox News reported.

So his reasoning was too many $2. beers at the VFW. You can't accost a govt official without being arrested & a psych evaluation. These no bail laws suck.

Problem with military boot camp is they play DOWN to the boots standards, not UP to the military's.
