I went by the Wawa at 4 & 235, Non Ethanol was $3.95. I suspect it will continue to drop in the weeks to come. Other locations, especially Ridgell's up the road are much higher.
I wouldn't expect to see a difference in MPG. I buy non-ethanol purely for the savings in engine repairs for my boats and small engines. It was $4.30 yesterday at the Shell FastStop in Dunkirk, 90 Octane. Problem there, or one, is that you have to pre-pay with how many gallons you want. I can usually tell pretty close but I always fill up. I also used it and didn't see enough MPG difference between Regular Unleaded with Ethanol to make it worthwhile to use.
Those are the main uses I'd have, boat motors, chain saw and, if my kid hadn't caught it on fire, the monster wood chipper.I wouldn't expect to see a difference in MPG. I buy non-ethanol purely for the savings in engine repairs for my boats and small engines.
Exactly correct. I do the same thing. Lawnmower mechanics have told me it is well worth it. Ever since I made the change, I have had no problems. Those are the main uses I'd have, boat motors, chain saw and, if my kid hadn't caught it on fire, the monster wood chipper.
Well, not long after I submitted this, another war broke out. The Petro Companies look for any excuse to raise prices. This excuse fell in to their lap almost immediately. Therefore, we better grab the non ethanol ASAP. I suspect it will quickly go up again. If it hasn't already. Even the most tiny of excuse is something they always use. I knew I should have got it yesterday! DARN IT!I went by the Wawa at 4 & 235, Non Ethanol was $3.95. I suspect it will continue to drop in the weeks to come. glad you followed up that report.....I was getting ready to head there with 6 5-gallon cans in the truck bed.Well, not long after I submitted this, another war broke out. You might investigate one of these:I have eight 5 gallon and two 6 gallon jerry cans. I can hump 52 gallons to the boat. I am down to just the generator, pressure washer and leaf blower at home on petrol...they get 100% E-zero. I do not always run E-zero in the boat with two thirsty 350 Crusaders in the bilge, but I will definitely use E-zero for the winterization process on those 4-barrell carb'd motors.
I recently had the original fiberglass tanks removed from our Hatteras; aft deck needs replacing and she's getting two new 210-gallon aluminum fuel tanks. I was always worried that even a brief exposure to ethanol would create a disaster with those old glass tanks. We've all heard the horror stories. Also going with fuel injection on the new engines..no more carbs. With all that we'll be able to run E-10 without so much worry, even though I'll always make sure its full of E-0 come off season...I have eight 5 gallon and two 6 gallon jerry cans. What I'm using:I have been spying FI, but the Holley Sniper EFI kits get pricey real quick, and none of the required high pressure fuel delivery systems are USCG approved that I know of.
"and U.S. Coast Guard requirements for ignition protection & fire resistance" - wow! thanks!
