My DH just got in the door, came within a few feet of being hit head on Rt. 5 in front of Mechanicsville ES. :cussing:

He said several vehicles were ran off the road and he wasn’t sure if they had been struck or not, but they were down it ditches. He said he was fooling around with the radio, looked up and swerved with a car coming straight at him. He called 911 and while he was on the phone, a deputy yelled on the radio about a vehicle heading in the wrong direction. The vehicle was going between 70-80 MPH. Drunk or a suicide attempt? Who knows, but maybe there will be something in the rag or local paper about it, unless somebody here knows more and cares to share.

He was very upset about the entire thing, and he didn't finally calm down about it until about 4 this morning when he fell asleep.

:tap: Hopefully what happened is newsworthy and the story will come out.

He said that he moved within seconds of being hit head on. :ohwell:

:huggy: Thanks

UFB, intoxicated and they found drugs in the car and a she.

Well, she nearly killed him last night and that is no exaggeration. Anyone who has even met my DH knows he doesn’t get too excited about anything. He is an easygoing person. Last night, he came in trembling and in horror. I honestly believe had that been me or any other person who has not had evasive driving's training would have been killed.

Pete’s reference to the driver’s trophy is that he was the top driver in the police academy training. Of course if I ever complain about his driving, I get to hear “do YOU have a trophy.” :ohwell:

Kizzy, would it do any good for your hubby to contact the arresting authorities as a witness?

He made the call, he was on the phone with the sheriff's office, reporting it, heard them dispatch it out and then as the duty officer was getting his information, he was told that a deputy was attempting to stop the car.

He was so hyped up that when the duty officer asked him to describe the vehicle, he said "it is the one heading the wrong effing way on Rt. 5." :lmao:

They told him to take a deep breathe.

On 02-14-05 St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office Deputy Milton Pesante observed a vehicle traveling northbound in the southbound lane on Rt. 5 in Mechanicsville. The vehicle was stopped and the driver identified as Jeri Namore Tilghman Briscoe 42 years of age of Lanham, Maryland. Deputy Pesante detected an odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from the Suspect's breath and person. Further investigation revealed Suspect Briscoe was operating an unregistered motor vehicle. Suspect Briscoe was administered standard roadside field sobriety tests, which she failed. A search incident to arrest revealed a quantity of suspected marijuana, suspected crack cocaine and CDS paraphernalia. Suspect Briscoe was arrested charged with DUI, Operating an Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Possession of CDS and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia and is currently incarcerated.

Kizzy your hubby was lucky to be able to avoid this idiot.
